Adobe Target Release Notes: What to Expect?

The latest Adobe Target release brings us several new features, fixes, and enhancements that are designed to make the tool more useful and reliable.

If you are an avid Adobe Target user then you must be aware that the company releases new patches every now and then to make the tool more efficient.

All you need to know about Adobe Target updates:

  • Changes in TLS Support

Since March 1st, 2020, the company has disabled support for TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 encryption. This may lead to some problems for users since TLS, short for Transport Layer Security, is one of the most-heavily used security protocols out there. They’re mainly used for browsers and apps that deal with the transmission or exchange of data over a network.

This change may come as a surprise to some but it is the need of the hour since the company is required to meet the accepted standard of the latest version of TLS.

If you want to continue using Target then have a look at your system and make sure you’re using at least version 1.2 of LS as older versions are no longer supported.

  • Mbox.js Deprecation

This change will take place on August 30, 2020, hence you have enough time to begin preparations. From September of this year, the platform will stop supporting the mbox.js library.

It is important that you make a move before the deadline because calls made after the deadline from mbox.js will not work and your pages that use Target will get affected.

Once again, the solution lies in migrating to the latest version of the library – ideally before the deadline – so that your website can continue to work without any problem.

This update comes as a surprise to some users because Target hasn’t offered feature updates related to this library for nearly 3 years as the last one came out in July 2017.

Right now is the correct time to make the move since the newer version of at.js offers a bunch of advantages over mbox.js.

Some of these benefits include better page load times that makes implementations quicker and easier, more security, and more reliable options for apps.

Once you upgrade the system, you will realize the pros since they’re related to some of the most commonly used features.

Target support staff and engineers are currently working on the plan to move all users to at.js. We believe that starting September, Adobe Target will offer even more to its users.

Are These Adobe Target Updates Worth It?

In one word – yes, they are.

There is a team of experts who look after Target and ensure it continues to improve.

We know that Target users are quite demanding since there are a number of similar services out there. The company has to continue to evolve and improve in order to satisfy its customers.

These updates are a way to do just that.

The company is quick to act to correct bugs and release fixes, which makes it one of the most reliable options for all types of users. The previous patch, for example, fixed issues related to APIs and improved security as well.

We’re not currently sure about the impact this new update will have on the end user, but based on Adobe’s track record, expect things to improve.

What Do I Need to Do To Ensure Target Continues to Work Well?

You only need to update the software and ensure all relevant applications are also updated. Based on the information given above, you will have to get the latest version of both TLS and mbox.js.

Updating Adobe Target is a piece of cake since the company offers excellent customer support that makes the job easier. Moreover, written guides are also available on the platform.

Is There Help Available?
